This Cookie and Similar Technologies Statement explains how OCEANSKY ENTERPRISES PTY LTD (ABN 54 699 634 387), trading as Chance Lab, uses cookies, session identifiers and related technologies on www.chancelab.ai. It forms part of the Chance Lab privacy information and should be read with the Privacy Policy.

2. What these technologies are

A cookie is a small data file stored by a browser. A session identifier is a technical value used to associate requests with a browser session or account state. Similar technologies may include local storage, security tokens and server-side session records.

Some identifiers may be personal information when they identify or can reasonably be linked to an individual, account, device or activity.

3. Technologies currently used

Chance Lab currently uses only technologies reasonably necessary to operate, secure and deliver the Service. These may be session cookies or identifiers, authentication and account-security tokens, CSRF protection tokens, subscription-access state and limited preference or interface storage.

4. Purposes of necessary technologies

keep a user signed in and associate requests with the correct session;

authenticate users and protect accounts;

prevent cross-site request forgery, fraud, abuse and unauthorised access;

operate Free and Plus access controls and recognise subscription eligibility;

remember necessary settings or limited user preferences;

maintain service continuity and technical reliability; and

diagnose errors, investigate security events and understand essential service operation.

5. Categories

5.1 Strictly necessary

Required for login, authentication, security, session management, request integrity and core service functions. Disabling these may prevent the Service from working.

5.2 Functional

Used only where necessary to remember a setting or preference requested by the user. These are not used for advertising.

5.3 Security and diagnostics

Used to detect misuse, investigate failures, protect infrastructure and maintain logs reasonably required for security and reliable operation.

6. What we do not currently use

Chance Lab does not currently deploy third-party advertising cookies, behavioural advertising pixels, cross-site advertising trackers or third-party analytics tools such as Google Analytics. We do not use cookies to sell personal information or build third-party advertising profiles.

7. First-party and service-provider technology

Necessary cookies and identifiers may be set or processed by Chance Lab and by infrastructure or service providers acting on our behalf where required to deliver the Service. Stripe and Google may use their own technologies when you interact directly with their hosted payment, customer-portal or email services; their practices are governed by their own notices.

8. Duration

Session technologies ordinarily expire when the browser session ends or when the session is invalidated. Persistent necessary technologies remain only for the period reasonably required for their stated function, security, fraud prevention or account continuity, and may expire earlier when cleared, revoked or replaced. Server-side security and audit records are retained under the Privacy Policy.

9. Browser controls

You can usually view, block or delete cookies through browser settings. Blocking or deleting necessary cookies may sign you out, prevent authentication, interrupt subscription-gated access, remove saved preferences or stop parts of the Service from working correctly.

Because the current technologies are necessary for requested service and security functions, they operate as part of providing the Service. If Chance Lab introduces non-essential analytics, advertising or tracking technologies, we will first assess applicable notice and consent requirements, update this Statement and the Privacy Policy, and provide a consent choice where required by law. We will not treat acceptance of the Terms as consent to optional advertising or marketing tracking.

11. Information and overseas processing

Technical information associated with these technologies may include IP address, browser and device information, timestamps, session or account identifiers, accessed pages or functions, and security or diagnostic events. As explained in the Privacy Policy, the principal application and user-data hosting is in the United States, so technical information may be stored or processed there.

We may update this Statement when technology, service functions, providers, law or data practices change. The updated document will be published on this page with its effective date.
